The association was informally started end of 1997 and formally created in summer 1999, when a bunch of enthusiastic volunteers converted a friendly gathering into some sort of association related to the learning, practicing, dancing, and awakening of the Argentina Tango in its purest form. It links the dance, music, and culture of Argentina all together. It is a non-profit making association set up in December 2000 as a limited company TangoTang, The Hong Kong Tango Club Ltd.

Our aims are:

• To promote the Argentina music, dance and culture in Hong Kong
• To organize weekly practicas (rehearsals)
• To organize dance workshops with Hong Kong and overseas dance instructors
• To organize Milongas (balls), performances and overseas trips related to Tango
• To provide special benefits linked to arts, culture, dance and leisure activities
• To provide a global link for Tango here in Hong Kong
• To those who come to enjoy Argentina Tango and meet link-minded people, we provide a relaxed and uncomplicated place.
